WHY SHOULD WE BE ACTIVE AT WORK?

A regular exercise routine creates a healthy mind and reduces stress.  Incorporating exercise into your work day also has the added benefits of building rapport with your co-workers and can help maintain momentum.  Benefits of being active include:

INCORPORATING EXERCISE AT WORK

To ensure everyone has fun when getting active at work. Set up some team challenges where teams compete against one another, such as:

  • 10,000 step team challenge
  • Set up a walk or run lunchtime group
  • Walk and talk meetings
  • Get your organisation to sponsor fun runs 
  • Enter team triathlons
  • Corporate gym memberships

Fun and happiness is contagious. So lighten up your workplace by having some fun with these team activities. Exercising with others provides an opportunity for increased social contact. Increased fitness lifts your mood. Exercise helps to change chemical levels in your brain and reduce stress.
